The #LongGrass :: Week 2

Thu 28th May 2015 - 6:46pm : Gaming

Hello and welcome to the second addition of Enter the #LongGrass brought to you by 8-12Hz.

Today we welcome the highly talented Chris “Cskillz” to join us and discuss joining VwS, his MKX competitive grind and his music career.  Let’s get started!

Hello Chris, welcome to the second #LongGrass interview, did you catch the first interview with Eric/Agent?

I actually just finished reading his interview. Very inspiring! I can't wait to start training with Agent.

Ok so let’s begin.

So let’s start with a bit about yourself, how you got into gaming and what it means to you?

First and foremost, gaming means the world to me. Being from Delaware, I come from a small town where it's easy to fall victim to bad choices. Growing up in a broken home, I gravitated towards video games at the age of 3 from watching my brothers play all the time. From Atari, Nintendo, Sega and more. It was my escape!

What made you want to join VwS and how was the joining process?

Honestly, I've been following the VwS Halo team for a while, I'm a fan! It has been my dream of mine to become pro one day and when the opportunity presented itself to join VwS, it was a no brainer. The process was amazing and both Joe and Matt explained to me the ins and outs. Key word, Family!

With Eric joining so close to yourself it must be nice to have another MKX player at VwS to practice with, do you think this will be key in the progression of both of you as players?

Absolutely! Having Eric on board will do wonders for us both. I can't wait to get started.

Similarly to Eric we know how excited you are to begin your journey as a VwS player, can you share with us some of your aims and goals in the thriving MKX scene?

My goal is to represent VwS to the fullest and become a better person/player. I can't wait to compete and grow. Not to mention, share my music with a community that shares the same passion as me. Video games!

Let’s learn a bit more about yourself as an MKX player.

What is your current play style, what characters do you main and why?

I main Kenshi, who's my childhood favorite next to Sub-Zero. I like to zone people out and Kenshi is extremely good at that.

Who are your Inspirations as an up and coming player within the scene?

The whole FGC honestly. From the likes of Cdjr, Yipes, Justin Wong, Persia, FC crew, RM crew and more.

Whilst we know you’re a very talented up and coming MKX player you’re also a very talented musical artist, can you tell us more about your music life and your goals in the industry?

I've been making music for 10 plus years. Earning air time on MTV, Shade 45 and more. Being a artist who struggles with depression, music allows me to express myself and reach a audience who may need a voice. My goal is to survive and help others survive too.

When you’re not playing games or making music where would we be most likely to find you?

With friends and family.

Thank you for your time and one last question before we finish off, where can everyone find you i.e. social media links?

Do you have any shout outs?
